Hi,
I have a MSA240, I have read these support active - active mode. Is this the default mode and how can I check it is in this mode. I have a management port on each controller but I can only connect to the manage port on the bottom controller. I can ping the IP for the other management port on the other controller.
Both controllers have a staus of 'Operational' and both management ports have a status of 'manual'

HP B-Series SAN Network Advisor - Remove old wwwn (red)
I removed my old SAN from my two brocade SAN FC Switches and attached the new SAN. The new SAN shows up and is working, but the wwwn of the old SAN remains listed in red at the port. I did a rediscover, and it still remains. How do I clean it up?

d2700
I have a d2700 SAS enclosure trying to connect to a DL580 (Win2012, internal P830 array controller) for shared storage.
The DL580 simply isn't seeing the JBOD. I have a P411 external controller with 1 gb FB Cache using SAS minis installed as well. Updated firmware and drivers. I have no light on the I/O module for the enclosure.
Think its a bad cable? I have no answers. Should I replace?

HP MSA 2012fc and disk enclosure
Hello.
Please help to clarify some quesiton.
I have MSA 2012FC and 2 disk enclosure - MSA60 and MSA2000
I connect both like in this guide http://h50146.www5.hpe.com/lib/products/storage/manual/array/762786-001.pdf - page 9
And problem is on second enclosure i see SP-A what means enclosure connected in raid controller A but loop B is failed.
Question is - did i done all right? I think problem in io module on enclosure 2 but ..... on enclosure 1 LUN owner is controller B and this enclosure doesn't have any problem. And MSA2012fc also running fine.

MSA2312i Storage Controller failure
Hello, dear forum users.
Could you please help resolving issue with HP MSA2312i controller?
Once it has been turned off for several hours, but after power on there's a failure with controller [A].
I tried switching on and off again, but still no result - its just fails. After ejecting and putting it back- there's also no result. Btw, absolutely no indicators on the rear panel for that controller.
Any ideas on this failure?

manage a d2700 storage enclosure
other than the MFG port on the back, is there is any other way, to flash the I/O module and update the firmware of this enclosure. I can't get the JBOD to connect via a PCI card installed in myDL580 server.
I have no LED on the SAS port. The enclosure has power and the I/O port has power, but nothing else, the card is good, verified in another server.
Please help.

We have an old MSA1000 SAN connected to two disk arrays that went quite wonky after being shutdown and moved for the first time in many, many years.
We have all volumes back up, bar one - one that we really want back up!
Output from SHOW UNIT on the CLI console is as follows:

We've ordered a replacement disk for the drive that has failed. But what concerns me is that the other three drives all show as REPLACEMENT, even though the disks haven't been replaced.
So I am worried that even if we replace the failed drive, the volume won't rebuild.
I can't find any command in the CLI documentation or on the ACU GUI utility to tell the MSA controller that those drives weren't replaced.
Any and all suggestions greatfully received!

HP MSA P2000 MIB - Check Disks possible?
Hello,
is it posible to check Disk Health for a P2000 G3 FC via SNMP?
I can't find the OIDs with SNMP Walk. We have the Official P2000 MIBs imported.

This SAN has dual power supplies. My question is can I unplug one power supply without half the unit (drives / controller) powering off? I believe these power supplies are redundant but I need to be sure. Thanks.

Hey all,
Is it possible to get disk drive model using CLI ? I've spent some time on it today and I am affraid that an answer will be that no.
show disks command is getting me serial number, but not model.
Why I need that model numer - I made a script that parses HP website for newest firmware for particular drive and instead of building a JSON or any other file with our curent status manually, I would like that script simply to get model numbers directly from storage array.
Would that be feasable?

HP MSA 2040 ES SAN and Citrix XenServer - why not certified?
Hey guys!
It seems to be almost impossible to get someone with real knowledge.
Out gold partner can't help me, the twitter support is just pointing "somewhere" instead of giving me a contact...
We plan to upgrade our server/storage and want to buy an MSA2040 storage, connected via FC16G to our HP DL380s.
Since we're using XenServer ever since, of course we want to keep it there. I can see, that some MSAs are certified to work with XenServer, others not. Several other solutions like 3par, VSA, P4000/Lefthand are also.
Since XenServer is based on CentOS, which is similar to RedHat RHEL (which is certified to all MSAs), it should work. From what I read on the web, ppl. are also using that combo - but may struggle when it comes to support cases.
Also... it's just an FC-Target, as long as the HBA is supported (which is), I don't know what else could be important (respective: why).
Is there anyone out here, who can tell my, why the MSA2040 isn't listed/tested or who/where to ask for details?
The HPE chat is just to be used with S/N, which I, of course, don't have atm. - and to be honest: I don't expect anything form them, it would more need level 3 support or even a developer. I just don't see how to catch one.

problem with firmware update on msa2212fc controller
Hi!
we have HP MSA2000 G2 AJ949A) that was running with 8 disks on one msa2212fc controller for last couple of month.s. Lat night we have updated controller with latest firmware (202P01 (A) and now storage controller will shuitdown imideately after boot up with error code 315. From web interface I can see that both PUS's marker as red.
Before update we had Version: W420R35 now CLI will report MC CODE: W420R86. I will greatly appreciaate for any pointers how to resilve this issue and make controller workable again.

Storage Replication between different vendor

In the MSA we have our VMware and Oracle VM environment.

P2000 vdisk data recover
We have P2000 G3 array. Configured RAID5 vdisk. After some unforeseen circumstances there are two LEFTOVR drives in this vdisk. And vdisk in state OFFL. Is there are any method to recover our vdisk?
We tried "trust vdisk .." command but got "command failed"
